Hill 52/2. Home from the front

3 wins, 1 defeat and 1 draw. 12 out of 28. The free French foreign legion made a good first impression.

It was a very defensive list and I lost 1:6 when I had to attack the “pincher” mission. A lot of the axis list was infantry heavy and I could cope with the small number of armored units. The armored cars and Hotchkiss worked best chasing soft targets.

I like the different feel of early war and hope for more tournaments,

Free French Legion for Hill 52/2

When the concept for the yearly Hill 52 was announced, (early war dessert/Balkan) the first impulse were to play my Italians. Then I realized allies needed more players and I thought of playing my Italian tanks as British captured. Then I read the burning emperies book and got hooked of the idea for playing foreign legion. I already have at some French infantry, all I needed where some British allies and at bit more support. I hope the study legionnaires can stand up against the hordes of Italian tanks J

I thought I only needed to paint at small amount for figures. ;-)

I made at magnet system for my pottees. An easy swap when I need to dismount my guns.

Intermezzo, aftermath

Pro :
The food, a different-tasting dinner and fine lunch choice. Fine shop with cheap beer and coffee.

I liked the different points on the tables. (size of game played) But there were many who thought 1750 points where the standard and the other army size rarely would be used. Maybe they should have told it in advance

Con:
Random opponents. They could should have used Göepp to swiss draw and table allocation

Rooms and the toilet was not very clean. But I can understand that I may lose the location due to lack of funding.  I was a ball, however, to watch all the old roleplay and board games. It was very oldschool.

I didn’t choose my army an think I would win it all. I wanted to play with Challengers :-) I won 3 (one was a draw) and lost 2.  I am pleased, and I am looking forward play british again (love those carriers) . It was not great victories so I ended up last in the rankings.
