End of year rambles

Finshed some more encounter for Frostgrave

Getting ready for my more human warband

Finally got my Kings of War kickstarter. Looking forward to try the game

Got a couple of Wamachine games. I like the way unit support and synergies is core of  this game.

Found some cheap trees at the local “dollar store” Søsterne Grenes

Halbe
The German 9th Army is in the retreat from Seelow Highs. There are waged a battle of annihilation against a hopelessly superior force in a wooded area near the village of Halbe. The mission is Surrounded and the Soviet Union are attacking.

Mads. KG Berlin Volksturm, with 2 x king tigers

The first games of the day and I was not quite warmed up  yet. An incredibly dense table with forest all over and a few roads. Tried a rush down the road against the two tigers, but a round of shooting took out the first unit T-34. Tried here after all go after infantry in the forest but a million bog tests didn’t do much.

Lost 1-6

Potsdam
Mixture of city and forest. Germans try with 12. army to break through to Potsdam and relieve Berlin. It is played Cauldron. Soviet Union's attack.

Micheal: Panthers, Stugs and one King Tiger.

The large areas of ruins meant that I had the opportunity to snipe the Stug unit of the board. The second unit succeeded in flank king tiger but it survived. But the combination of selective shooting and a lot of German book test brought the victory home. (Micheal forgot his enjoy the war)

Won 4-3

Berlin!
The table is a clean citytable, the table should simulate the fighting on the central part of the city. It is a No Retreat.

John. Fearless, Trained SS

Incredibly beautiful table. But I knew  I was under pressure as a tank company. A minefield in the middle of the central road meant that there was no easier way forward. The game end when time limit was up and the defender won. The only game where my mortars really got some shots of.

Lost 2-5

The railroad

Dan. Trained Grenadiers, wrap 40, Hetzers and one King Tiger

The fight is at a train yard, so lots of railroad tracks and relatively open shots fields. It is played Hold the Line.

Dan. Trained Grenadiers, wrap 40, Hetzers and one King Tiger
Unfortunately, a clean shooting frenzy as you could see through all timber lines (judge rulening) So I should have no chance to hide. I manage to achieve to destroy one unit pack 40

Lost 2-5

Conclusion: I think the normal Tankovy is a better choise. The problem is you die just as easy as a normal tanks and then four trained tanks simply not enough.

I need to play FOW more often. I don't play enough games to be completive in tournaments :-)
