Back to Bliztkrieg French

A local gaming club in Aalborg 9K had a small earlywar tournament (3 games). Earlywar is the ETC period this year and finally more focus on this FOW period locally.  

I have not use my Blitzkrieg French since 9. April 2011 !!! When I the tournament was announced, I hurried to sign up. The French got at small boost in 3th edition. One man turret don’t forbids shooting when moving and my MG gets 2 shoots when pinned. Great stuff. 

I played and almost identical list as 3 ½ years ago, only swapping HQ 25mm for and 81 mm platoon

It was a blue vs. blue event and it was possible to meet T-34 and KV and other heavy tanks.

It was fun to play earlywar again. I needed to get used to the short ranges, a couple of time I did overestimate the range of my AT and deployed it too deep on the board.

I played vs. 1 British armored company from Africa, 1 Japanese infantry, and 1 French Char 1 company

Field of Glory Renaissance

Time for some Pike and Shot.

A discussions about the coolness of pikes at Tinsoldatens facebook page got a group of now 6 getting into a new period. The 30 years war. A rarely played period when handheld firearms was coming of age but still support by pikes.

We went for the Field of Glory ruleset, possible to play small bring your army battles, but the goal is to get to replay the great battles of the war.

The miniatures for the period mostly are genetic, but I chose collecting the French a late comer in TYW.
